I think the real term for it has always been candid photography, because that is what it really is.

Perhaps calling it public photography would make more sense. That would stop people from thinking it only includes people on the street, and it would stop people thinking that pictures of streets are street photographs. Also it would help drive home that the fact that if people are out in public it is legal to photograph them.

that is so cute.
several attempts i have taken ---have alot of blur...cause i feel so quilty and obvious about taking street photography...but i so love documenting the streets...
i think it is a necessary medium for unbiased phtographers to show the world without censorship.
if you'd ever like to see alittle of my street stuff beyond here
