..Contest Stuff..

Ok, first things first. Its not a contest for $100, but for something worth just as much

..Personal Stuff..

Im going into business with a friend of mine, ~IrisKnight and our studio arrived today! Well, most of it. Today, we recieved 3x 800w/s strobes, 10ft stands and umbrella's for each, a 32x40 softbox, and a reciever/transmitter (until we can afford pocket wizards) Alien Bee's Website, amazing lighting!

That adds to my current lighting sustem of a Nikon Sb800 and AlienBee-R800.

Next on the agenda, 2 Muslin backdrops 10x20 in white and black, and backdrop stands.

Other than that, I've just been biding my time, getting things together, contacting people, booking shoots, and generally just enjoying sleeping in in the morning.

As far as bookings go, I am looking at 3 bands on the 23rd, Including Canadian band Econoline Crush
, and a friends band, Edges of Seven. I have a portrait shoot with Without Mercy at the beginning of March, and its going to be alot of fun!

Im also looking for a group of people who want to pitch in for shoots at the Riverview Mental Hospital in vancouver.. Its abandoned, but still in use, so traditional URBEX is out of the question, sadly

And lastly, anyone in Vancouver who wants to work with me, either as a model, or supplier of models, drop me a note, lets see what we can do.

now, i'd love the ir filter, so i'll have to keep my eyes out for it

FFVII rocks!

But I love FFX :-.

Studio photography ... hmm ... I could drop by if you spend a coffee (and the ticket over to the US ;D ). For the rest I'd send my gf, she loves to get her hands on studio gear and would surely like to assist.

Woohoo for new lights! As far as the muslin backdrops, what for specifically? I ask because muslin is expensive, and it seems like all of my work that used to use backdrops(like headshots)has moved away from muslin backdrops and to either natural light or a textured wall. You might get more bang for your buck by painting three walls with a light texture paint.One wall a sandalwood color for high key shots, one wall ochre for medium key, and a slate grey for low key. Just a thought. Seems like a lot of photographers buy muslin or paper...then never use them.

Congratulations it sounds like things are coming together well for you especially doing a shoot for Econoline Crush. The Riverview Mental Hospital trip sounds cool but how could it be abandoned but still in use at the same time?
