Vancouver Fashion Week
Fall 2008

Model: Camille V
Design: Unknown

I really liked this designer.. If only I could remember who made it.

I did post on this, kinda came up with an effect I like, that has had some inspiration taken from one of my favorite portraitists on deviantART..

I have been working on a fashion portfolio to get myself some new work, so I am foregoing my regular 'no manipulation' on some of these..

Lets face it. The shot looked great straight from camera, but clients dont care about how "true to photography" you are now-a-days..

All my non-client work will still remain straight from camera

That's really beautiful - and I am touched that you should mention me as an inspiration.
Kudos to you, because most people don't (mention their inspirations).
Also, I would never have thought to use such a long lens to do this kind of shot, but it works really well - as does the manipulation.
The choice of model is great too - styling is spot on and your choice of post-production suits the garment really perfectly.
We always have to remember that pre-digital, manipulation was almost always carried - even if it was just the choice between black and white or colour film/push-pull processing; paper grade; on-camera filtration etc etc.....so there shouldn't need to be a stigma attached to 'manipulation' - it is after all just a means to an end - the artists vision.

I'm really proud of you, Scott and genuinely and sincerely flattered.

Andrew

Horribly intrusive watermarks are tacky. If you're concerned about people stealing your photos, don't post them on the internet.

Photography is the simultaneous recognition, in a fraction of a second, of the significance of an event. (HCB)

i am stunned by just how different and just how brilliant this photo is in style and effect! :D I agree with AndrewF that the processing suits the garment and this is one sleek effective end product. KEep experimenting if this is some of what we can expect! :D
