Artist's Comments

I took this shot while everyone else was taking the same shitty shot of lil wayne.

Second in a series of unsung concert heroes.

I was super excited to be shooting behind the sound board at Lil Wayne..

I wanted this one shot, for myself.

I would have loved to be in the pit, but no one was allowed but the video guys..

In the background is Lil Wayne, sitting on the edge of the stage, and frame right is T-Pain, coming to say hi or something..

;)

Unsung Heroes:

Lighting Tech
Guitar Tech

This is good. Way better than lighting tech one. I used to want to be a sound engineer. Had a little home studio and all. I applied to sound engineering courses, then had a last minute change of heart, and I'm doing straight-up engineering at uni.. but I still record my band and stuff :P

BTW, Just got a D200 on the used market, immediately thought of you because you're probably the only photographer I 'follow' who uses D300 :P

wow! :wow:
great capture!

I love it. the composition, the light, the way you manege to capture the singer movement.
but what i mostly love about this is how peaceful the whole frame is with the guy wearing his headphone. it's like, the background is so "load", and yet, when you look at the whole picture. you get a sense of quiet and serenity.
if that makes any sense at all :O_o:

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

Love how there's a purple glow :)
The composition makes it seem like the sound guy is more important than the performers, but in a good way.

oh he definitely is the unsung hero :aww:

Horribly intrusive watermarks are tacky. If you're concerned about people stealing your photos, don't post them on the internet.

Photography is the simultaneous recognition, in a fraction of a second, of the significance of an event. (HCB)

Yeah, the lighting tech one is a little busier, I might revisit it, and lower the contrast :)

the D200 is still a nice camera!

So, I'm not going to use fancy words like composition, but this is a really cool shot. ^^
